Known previously as the Aviation Economics and Aircraft Branch in the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MTCA). Its work generally involved the following areas of concern: creating, analysing and appraising studies of the economic aspects of air transport involving air services, traffic aircraft and ground services; providing economic appraisals of the estimates, accounts and operating proposals of the airways corporations; advising on contemporary civil aircraft problems; estimating tariffs for the carriage by air of passengers, mail and freight; collecting, analysing and presenting statistical data relating to civil aviation and furnishing economic advice on questions of policy. |
