This file (and Work 20/17) relate to the desire of the Office of Works to acquire some houses and the land on which they stood in Old Palace Yard, for the purpose of erecting a memorial chapel. The leaseholds were acquired in the 1890s and early 1900s. The site was later used for the memorial to King George V.
