This series includes a recognizance or bail book, 1654 to 1677; certificate books, 1876 to 1887; costs books, 1869 to 1890; an estreat book, 1740 to 1800; note books 1766 to 1932, including one covering the special commission of assize at Princetown in 1932 following the riots at Dartmoor prison; order books (transportation, etc), 1629 to 1819; postea books, 1611 to 1679; and process books, 1717 to 1820.
These records include both series of different types of documents, and individual documents, which are either the only extant examples of a particular type of record, or which were compiled for special purposes.
