Title: Reports to the Comptroller and Auditor General
Description:

Reports mainly from Exchequer and Audit Department Staff visiting other government departments to audit their accounts. The reports include references made by 'local' E and AD staff and proposed CAOG queries on departmental accounting methods and figures, and the CAOG response or action taken on these. There are also reports from the department on questions of staffing and other internal matters.

Additional statutory responsibilities of the Comptroller and Auditor-General in connection with the Exchequer and Audit Department are also alluded to in these reports.

The reports were almost invariably in manuscript and were retrospectively bound together in years. For each year there is a chronological register of reports received, with the CAOG's note that the accounts are approved, with or without additional comment, and an index to the register.
