Administrative / biographical background:

No. 90 Group was formed at Medmenham, Buckinghamshire, by the merger, on 25 April 1946, of Nos. 26 and 60 Groups, when it also assumed responsibilities previously exercised by various directorates of the Air Ministry and the Ministry of Aircraft Production. It was responsible for all aspects of radio engineering, electronic warfare, telecommunications and the operation of navigational aids in the Royal Air Force. Drawings of an earlier date than the merger originated with the predecessors of No. 90 Group.
