Title: UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation: Testimonies Project
Description:

This series contains the transcripts and the testimonies of 112 audio-visual interviews recorded by the UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation (UKHMF). The interviews cover a wide range of experiences linked to Nazi antisemitic persecution and the Holocaust, and include the perspectives of camp survivors, children in hiding, refugees who escaped to the United Kingdom and Kindertransport children. Many of these testimonies were recorded for the first time. The series also includes the testimony of a survivor of the Roma genocide, as well as those of eight British soldiers and medical staff who were involved in the liberation and relief of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945.

If you would like to re-use the footage or transcripts, please visit the UKHMF testimonies licence webpage for details on how to apply for a licence. Some interviewees have permitted the use of their testimonies for specific purposes and details are provided in the Restrictions on Use information for those records.

Note: Transcripts were edited between 2015 and 2024. The dates shown in catalogue entries for individual transcripts reflect the dates when each testimony was originally created.
Date: 2015-2016
Arrangement:

The records are grouped into two sequences: one for the testimonies and one for the transcripts. The catalogue entry for each video testimony is cross-referenced to the corresponding transcript and vice versa.

References for these born digital records are automatically generated and display a 'Z' after a forward slash, which distinguish them from traditional references allocated to paper and digitised copies of records.
