Administrative / biographical background:

The Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) and Electricity Settlements Company (ESC) were both established in 2014 by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to support the delivery of the Electricity Market Reform (EMR). The LCCC was established to manage the Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme. The ESC was established to manage the Capacity Market scheme.
