Administrative / biographical background: |
The Motorists Forum was set up in 1999 by the Vice Chairman of the Commission for Integrated Transport, Sir Trevor Chinn, and was launched in January 2000. The forum was the primary regular channel through which road users and other key stakeholders from the roads and motoring sector contributed to government thinking on priorities and performance of roads. The forum focused on both topics of current interest and longer term strategic direction for road and motoring policies. Its stated objective was to make motoring cleaner, smarter and safer. The aim of the forum was to ensure that the views of the responsible motorist were taken properly into account in the development of transport policy, and it worked in close co-operation with the Commission for Integrated Transport. |
