Administrative / biographical background:

The Regional Assemblies of England were established originally (as Regional Chambers) by the Regional Development Agencies Act 1998. The East of England Regional Assembly was the regional assembly for the East of England region. It was abolished on 31 March 2010, its functions transferring to the newly constituted East of England Regional Strategy Board, part of the East of England Local Government Association.
