Administrative / biographical background:

The Advisory Panel on Standards for the Planning Inspectorate (APOS) was set up in January 1993. It is an independent body whose purpose is to advise the Minister for Planning in England and the Minister for Sustainability and Rural Development in Wales on the maintenance and enhancement of professional standards in the Planning Inspectorate. The Planning Inspectorate is an Executive Agency in the Department for Communities and Local Government and the National Assembly for Wales (NAW).
