Folios 10-13. Folio10. Samuel Woodhouse of Bath [Somerset] to the King. Petition for Letters Patent for his invention of 'a four wheel machine or carriage, to carry four persons, together with parcels' designed to 'travel with much more expedition, by running many more miles and in fewer hours in one day' than any other. Endorsed with referral to the Attorney or Solicitor-General signed by W [William] Pitt, Folio 11. Samuel Woodhouse's affidavit in support of his petition. Folios 12-13. Attorney-General's report to the King recommending that Woodhouse's petition be granted on the terms requested on condition that a description of the invention be enrolled in Chancery. Signed by C [Charles] Pratt.
