Administrative / biographical background:

The snapshots for this website were taken after the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) was reorganised in 2005, but all the snapshots represent a DTI initiative carried out prior to this reorganisation.

The national E-Commerce Awards ran from 1999 to 2005 and were led by the DTI and InterForum, a not for profit membership organisation that helped British businesses to trade electronically. The awards, which were sponsored by a number of corporate and media partners, were designed to recognise and reward those organisations that demonstrated excellence through the use of the internet and other information and communications technologies.
