The Fire Service College at Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, is responsible for providing leadership, management and advanced operational training courses for senior fire officers from the UK and foreign fire authorities. The College was officially opened in 1974 and on 1 April 1992 became an executive agency. Responsibility for the College originally rested with the Home Office. In June 2001, the responsibility for the college transferred from the Home Office to the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, and the following year to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and then in 2006 to the Department for Communities and Local Government. |
