The NHS Modernisation Agency was an executive agency of the Department of Health in the United Kingdom. It was established in April 2001 to support the National Health Service in England, and its partner organisations, in the task of modernising services and improving experiences and outcomes for patients. The prefix MXW was allocated to The Modernisation Agency Corporate Development Team and this team provided the corporate governance and finance function for the Modernisation Agency. The HDX prefix was allocated to the Public Health Development division within the Health Improvement Directorate specifically carrying out functions relating to the Health and Social Care Standards Quality Group. The Directorate covered a number of areas relating to health improvement including health education, staffing and training, health promotion, health programmes and operations. |
