Details and Outcome: Patient admitted suffering with neurasthenia ('severe'). Symptoms commended three days prior to admission when noticed to be 'unusually distrait in manner', depressed and refusing to go on duty. Is said at times to be 'sullen and refusing to speak', at others 'noisy, resistive and violent' ; 'talking loudly in an irrational manner mainly on religious subjects (religious exaltation)'. Further details given. Evacuated under escort to UK and transferred to a private mental hospital: - 'considerable difficulty occurred owing to patient's noisy and resistive condition, and it was found necessary to give morphia hypodermically and remove her on an ambulance to Camberwell House'. Includes a medical case sheet and two pieces of correspondence.
