Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Antigua.

Captured ship: Hiram schooner (master Ebenezer McIntosh).

Nationality: American.

History: taken in April 1813 by HMS Morne Fortunee (Joseph Steele commanding), and brought into Antigua.

Appellant: William Rodie merchant of Antigua, on behalf of the owners of the cargo.

Respondent: Hon Paul Horsford and Ann Reid, executor and executrix of the will of Thomas Thomas deceased, late Deputy Registrar of the Vice Admiralty Court of Antigua, and Captain Thomas Reid, husband of Ann Reid; and John William Molloy, executor Anthony James Pye Molloy, late Registrar of the Vice Admiralty Court of Antigua, partly cited by monition from this court.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 14 March 1818 (folios 178-188) [no folio 184].

Decision: against the appeal, save that the order for the claimant to pay costs is reversed.
