Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Barbados.

Captured ship: Hendrick (master Francois Anthelme David).

Nationality: French.

History: bound from Bordeaux to Guadeloupe, in ballast; taken on 12 August 1815 with other French ships by HM Land and Sea Forces employed in the capture of Guadeloupe (Read Admiral Sir Philip Charles Durham and Lt General Sir James Leith commanding), and brought into Barbados.

Appellant: John David, merchant of London, on behalf of Eugene Rubichon of Bordeaux and Messrs Perrier Freres of Paris, French merchants.

Respondent: The captors.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 10 December 1817 (folios 19-26) [no folio 18].

Decision: further hearing to stand over for present.
