Printed prize appeal from the High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Diana otherwise Hebe (master George Hendricks Quidans otherwise William Brown).

Nationality: Prussian or British.

History: bound from Portsmouth to London, laden with West India produce; taken on 1 December 1811 by French privateers Lion and Fox; later bound from Ostend to England, laden with porcelain, books and bronzes; recaptured on 17 July 1813 by JM Sippings of HM Customs while at anchor in Woolwich, Blackwall.

Appellant: Richard Cheeswright merchant of London for the ship and freight on behalf of himself and Robert Bell and David Cornfoot merchants of Demerary, Duncan Campbell, William Emerson and Shakespear Reid merchants of London and William Richardson mariner of Rotherhithe, all British subjects.

The master, for the ship and freight as the property of Carl Reimers of Stettin, a Prusian subject, protected from capture by a licence.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 20 June 1816 (folios 411-441) [no folio 435].

Decision: against the appeal and against the adhesion of the respondent; affirmed the sentence of the lower court.
