Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Tortola.

Captured ship: Ann (master Bror August Ridderhierta).

Nationality: Swedish.

History: bound from Aux Cayes, Saint Domingue to St Bartholomew, laden with logwood; taken on 10 March 1814 by HMS Bustard brig (Charles B Strong commanding), HMS Echo brig (Thomas Percival commanding), HMS Amaranthe (George Pringle commanding) and HMS Eclipse (Henry Lynne commanding) and brought into Tortola.

Appellant: Curtis Conn, Swedish merchant of St Bartholomew, for sundry cargo.

Respondent: The captors and HMPG.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 9 May 1816 (folios 375-384).

Decision: ship and cargo (or value) to be restored as claimed on payment of the captors' expenses.
