Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Antigua.

Captured ship: Carolina (master Carl Beck).

Nationality: Swedish.

History: bound from Boston to St Bartholomew, in ballast; taken on 19 January 1814 north of Barbuda by the privateers Thistle (Robert Wilson commanding) and Eliza Mackay (James Pritchard commanding), and brought into Antigua.

Appellant: The master for the ship as owner.

Respondent: The captors.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 21 December 1815 (folios 34-41).

Decision: ship to be restored subject to further proof.
