Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Nova Scotia.

Captured ship: Fanny (master James Breath).

Nationality: American.

History: bound from New York to Halifax, laden with flour; taken on 8 July 1813 by HMS La Hogue (Hon Thomas B Capel commanding), and brought into Halifax.

Appellant: The master for the ship and cargo as American property under a licence.

Respondent: The captor and HMPG.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 22 February 1815 (folios 439-447) [no folio 441].

Decision: For the original sentence, condemning the ship and cargo as good and lawful prize.
