Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Antigua.

Captured ship: Julia (master Olof Greslund).

Nationality: Swedish.

History: bound from Amelia Island to St Bartholomew, laden with corn, rice, corn meal and staves; taken on 18 January 1814 by the privateer Thistle (Robert Wilson commanding), and brought into Antigua.

Appellant: Curtis Conn, Swedish merchant of St Bartholomew, Swedish subject, for the ship and cargo as his own property.

Respondent: The captor.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 8 June 1815 (folios 364-384) [no folios368, 376, 380].

Decision: ship and cargo to be restored.
