Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Nova Scotia.

Captured ship: Anna (master Diego Martinez).

Nationality: Spanish.

History: bound from La Guaira to New York and New Haven, Connecticut, laden with flour, gin, beef, soap and hogs lard; taken on 13 July 1813 by HMS Poictiers (Sir John Poo Beresford commanding), and brought into Halifax.

Appellant: The master for the ship and cargo on behalf of Don Domingo Hernandez of La Guaira, Spanish subject.

Respondent: The captor and HMPG.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 1 June 1815 (folios 319-339) [no folios 322, 326, 334, 340].

Decision: further proof required of claimant.
