Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Malta.

Captured ship: Nereo (master Giacomo Guglielmo Merlo).

Nationality: Italian.

History: bound from Trieste to Malta and then England, laden with planks, paper, cream of tartar, vitriol, etc; taken on 28 January 1811 by the privateer Hildebrand (Luca Vulovitch commanding), and brought into Malta.

Appellant: George Reichardt of Malta for the ship and cargo on behalf of Martin Schunk, a British subject of Valetta and London.

Respondent: The captor.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 27 November 1812 (folios 385-395) [no folios 388, 396].

Decision: ship and cargo to be restored.
