Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Malta.

Captured ship: Anna (master Canello Papadopulo).

Nationality: Turkish.

History: bound from Smyrna to Ancona, laden with cotton and other property of Turkish subjects; taken on 27 April 1810 by the privateer Speculation (Charles Jenkins commanding), and brought into Malta.

Appellant: John Green esq, treasurer of the Turkey and Levant Company, as agent for the ship on behalf of Pasquale Navicoglu merchant of Smyrna; and for sundry cargo on behalf of Calib Oglu Hadgi Mahomet Effendi, former governor of Smyrna and others, subjects of Smyrna.

Respondent: The captor, officers and crew.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 11 November 1812 (folios 320-340) [no folios 332, 341].

Decision: goods to be restored subject to further proof.
