Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Malta.

Captured ship: Amazon (master Josiah Page).

Nationality: American.

History: bound from Alicante to Leghorn [Livorno], laden with cod fish, sugar and frankincense; taken on 26 August 1807 by the privateer Fillibuster (Vincenzo Palombo commanding), and brought into Malta.

Appellant: The master for the ship and cargo on behalf of himself and John Page, Israel Thorndike and Thomas Stephens merchant of Beverley, Masachusetts.

Respondent: The captor.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 17 November 1810 (folios 69-91) [no folio 82].

Decision: ship and cargo to be restored.
