Description:

Printed prize appeal from the High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Ann (master Peregine Howland).

Nationality: American.

History: bound from Nantes to Bordeaux, in ballast; taken on 9 January 1808 by HMS Eurydice frigate (Sir William Bolton commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

Appellant: William Lyman, American consul-general in London, for the ship on behalf of Joseph Wanton Clark merchant of Charleston, American citizen.

Respondent: The captor and HMPG.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 8 February 1810 (folios 331-341).

Decision: against the appeal.
