Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Malta.

Captured ship: Charles (master Richard Keating).

Nationality: American.

History: bound from Marseilles to New York, laden with wine, hats, oil and merchandise; taken on 11 August 1807 by the privateer Fillibuster (Vincenzo Palomba commanding), and brought into Malta.

Appellant: The master for sundry goods on behalf of Robert Ralston merchant of Philadelphia.

Respondent: The captor.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 30 November 1809 (folios 1-12).

Decision: goods to be restored.
