Description:

Printed prize appeal from the High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Henriette (master Gottlieb Jager).

Nationality: Prussian.

History: bound from Batavia and China to Emden, laden with tea, nankeen, metals, ginger, canes, Japaned ware, arrack, confectionery and madeira; taken on 31 May 1803 by HMS Lapwing (Alexander Skene commanding), and brought into Great Yarmouth.

Appellant: The master for the ship on behalf of Claas Tholen merchant of Emden, Prussian subject.

Respondent: The captor and HMPG.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 24 May 1805 (folios 121-231) [no folios 136, 145, 153, 168, 207, 232].

Decision: against the appeal.
