Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Jamaica. Captured ship: San Jose y Carmen otherwise St Josef (master Joseph Miguel Zuaznavar). Nationality: Spanish. History: bound from Campehe to Jamaica, laden with dye wood, rice and other 'specie'; taken on 19 March 1799 by HMS Brunswick ( [William] Chilcott commanding), and brought into Jamaica. Appellant: The master for the schooner and cargo; on his own behalf for specie, as Spanish property granted to him by HM licence. Respondent: The captor. Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 4 August 1802 (folios 434-494). Decision: ship, cargo and specie to be restored.
