Description:

Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Montserrat.

Captured ship: Skionne Dorothea (master Jens Poulsen Smidt).

Nationality: Danish.

History: bound from St Thomas to Altona, laden with sugar, coffee and tobacco; taken on 23 September 1798 by the privateers Warspite (John Mollineux commanding) and Dagnam (Andrew Cannonier), and brought into Montserrat.

Appellant: Christopher Kilby Allicocke merchant of St Thomas, and others, for the cargo.

Respondent: The captors.

Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 11 March 1802 (folios 471-485).

Decision: cargo to be restored.
