Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Jamaica. Captured ship: Hannah (master John Cox). Nationality: American. History: bound from Petit Goave, Saint Domingue to New York and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, laden with sugar and coffee; taken on 28 September 1793 by the privateer Little Ann (William Goss commanding), and brought into Jamaica. Appellant: Alexander Jopp of Kingston, Jamaica, on behalf of Joseph L'Epine and Nicolas Loyante de St Amande merchants of New York, trading as Joseph L'Epine and Co, for the cargo. Respondent: The captor. Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 5 December 1795 (folios 455-467) . Decision: on further proof: further proof required. Documents: Folios 455-456: case on behalf of the appellant; Folio 457: decree; Folios 458-461: appendix to the appellants' case; Folios 462-463: case on behalf of the respondent; Folios 464-467: appendix to the respondents' case. |
