Prisoner name: Thomas Stone, aged 26. Court and Date of Trial: Central Criminal Court, September 1839. Crime: Forgery. Initial sentence: Seven years transportation. Gaoler's Report: Character not known. Outcome: Refuse. Petitions and letters: A petition from Jane Stone, the prisoner's sister. Claims the prisoner did not know the bills were forgeries. A petition from Adrian Newth, the prosecutor, pleading mitigation due to the prisoner having one leg and thus no use to the colony.
