Administrative / biographical background:

The Corporate Services Division (Manpower Services Commission) was responsible for personnel, finance and common services for the Commission and its staff. The Division was established in 1977 as a result of recommendations in the Management Review. Staff from the Head Office of the existing Personnel and Finance Branches were transferred as a result of the review. The objectives of the Division were to ensure that the Commission had the resources and services it needed to carry out its agreed programmes of work and to assist in seeing that these resources are used efficiently.
