Administrative / biographical background: |
The Executive Team has met weekly since 1997. It currently comprises the following staff: the Chief Executive Officer of The National Archives; the Director of Technology (and Chief Information Officer); the Director of Public Services and Marketing; the Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development; the Director of Information Policy and Services; and the Director of Corporate Services and Finance. The purpose of the Executive Team weekly liaison meetings between Directors is to discuss any issues emanating from their functional areas of business that may be of interest to other Directors. The Executive Team takes overall responsibility for the management of The National Archives, ensuring that it achieves its vision and business plans and that it supports The National Archives managers by acting as a fast decision making group. The team continues to ensure that all major projects and new developments within The National Archives are discussed by team members and that the views of the whole Executive Team are known before committing to major corporate and strategic collective proposals. Once every month the Executive Team is expanded by the addition of five non-executive Directors to become the Management Board. Such Executive Team proposals are then considered by the Management Board where the option to adopt or reject the proposals are finally decided upon. |
