The Inquiry into the management of care of children receiving complex heart surgery at the Bristol Royal Infirmary was set up following an announcement by the Secretary of State for Health in the House of Commons on 18 June 1998. The Inquiry panel, consisting of a chairman and three members, was chaired by Professor Ian Kennedy. Secretariat services for the Inquiry were provided by the Department of Health. The final report of the inquiry was presented to Parliament by the Secretary of State for Health in July 2001. |
