Description:

Captured ship: the Spanish ship Nostra Senora del Buen Viage, taken on 8 June 1806 by HMS Narcissus.

Document: Royal warrant No 757, for payment to the captors of a grant the value of the ship and cargo, condemned as droits (and amounting to £3,542 11s 1d).

Notes: This is a grant to the captors as compensation for their losses arising from the capture of this ship (under the Portuguese flag) and cargo, 1/3rd thereof having been condemned as prize and the remainder restored; but the ship and cargo having been recaptured by the Spaniards whilst on HM service and part of the cargo of corn having been distributed amongst HM Squdron employed on the expedition against Buenos Aires.
