The Consumer Affairs and Competition Policy (CACP) Division was part of the Department of Trade and Industry. The Division was primarily concerned with competition policy and casework, UK mergers and monopolies, and anti-competitive practices. Other areas of work covered by the Division were legislation and Mergers and Monopolies Commission (MMC) references under section 11 of the Competition Act 1980.
