Administrative / biographical background: |
In 1984 a separate Plant Health Division was created to administer plant health policy and EC plant health regime. This Division merged with Marketing Policy and Potatoes Division to form the Horticulture and Potatoes Division in 1989. In 1990 Plant Health Division became part of Flood Defence, Plant Protection and Agricultural Resources Directorate. In 2001 Plant Health Division was based at York, responsibilities included import and export arrangements and plant pests. In 2009 Plant Health Division became part of the Food and Environment Research Agency and in 2015 on creation of Fera Science Ltd responsibility for the series transferred back to DEFRA. |
