From: George F St Barbe, Lymington [Hampshire].

Subject Matter: Letter acknowledging receipt of a letter of the 25 September 1866 with reference to the adoption of the Local Government Act 1866 to this parish. St Barbe provides his remarks on the petition of appeal of the Local Government Act 1858 in this parish in the order in which the several allegations appear in the petition. He also adds that the signatures to the petition include those who are non voters and many females, where he believes the paper was taken around the parish for signature as appears by the handbill enclosed. He therefore asks for an Inquiry to be made into the validity of the vote in question.
