Description:

Folio 243.

To: The General Board of Health.

From: D G Adey, Auditor, Markyate, Dunstable [Bedfordshire].

Subject Matter: Letter referring to the very unsatisfactory state of the accounts of the Luton Local Board, [Bedfordshire]. Adey explains that he lives only a few miles from Luton, and is aware of the very large sums which have been expended, but as the Act only gives him authority to see the sums expended it is little use for an audit. He therefore asks whether it is necessary for him to take any steps relative to the audit unless called on to do by the Local Board.

Date: 1855 Mar 18
