From: The General Board of Health.

Subject Matter: Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter of the 25 August 1851 asking for an opinion on the mode of levying rates under the Public Health Supplemental Act 1849 in order to meet the expense of lighting certain streets of which some have never been dedicated to the public under the provisions of the Highways Act or the Public Health Act 1848. In reply the Board provide procedural guidance on this subject.
