From: Edward Cresy, Superintending Inspector, The General Board of Health.

Subject Matter: Letter with reference to the petition of the inhabitants opposing the adoption of the Public Health Act 1848 to Luton [Bedfordshire], in response to Cresy's Preliminary Inquiry on the 29 March 1849. Cresy gives a detailed reply to their response, where he considers there is a great need for the Public Health Act 1848 to be applied to Luton.
