From: Frederick Chase and 4 others, Luton [Bedfordshire].

Subject Matter: Letter with reference to a resolution recently unanimously passed at a vestry meeting of the parish. Chase asks for a deputation to be received by the undersigned of this letter, to explain the circumstances and the reasons why the Public Health Act 1848 Act should not be applied or extended to the town of Luton, and also to receive a petition signed by the inhabitants of this town against the adoption of the Act.
