Folios 17-19. To: The General Board of Health. From: William Heard, Agent, St Margaret's, Ware [Hertfordshire]. Subject Matter: Letter on behalf of Samuel Crawley of Stockwood Park, but residing in Italy for the benefit of his health. Heard calls attention to the very extraordinary boundary line set out for the Luton Board of Health [Bedfordshire] by Mr Cresy, Superintending Inspector, which is shown in the sketch annexed to his report. He considers that this large extent of land would not benefit from the Local Act for the improvement of the health of the town, and therefore the town should not be burdened with the expense to be incurred in establishing a Board of Health to carry out the recommendations conveyed in that report. He adds that as Mr Crawley is the owner and occupier of a considerable extent of land in the township, but is a significant distance from the town, as his agent, he objects to being charged or made chargeable with the expenses of such Act. |
