Folio 15: Commissioner Richard Beach, Portsmouth. Report on the progress with the Reserve, Nonsuch, Pearl, Montague, Rupert and Mary Rose. He will consult with Sir John Berry, when he hears from the Mayor at Poole regarding the Speedwell. He is pleased the Treasury is paying out and hopes Mr. Pett will satisfy the bills drawn on him by Mr. Shales. Mr. Hayward will meet with him soon regarding his contract for timber from Bewley. He has used men from the laid up ships to help with the removal of guns, sails and rigging. The Merlin yacht He has been sent to the Isle of Wight to transport soldiers. They have been unable to unload the transport of the cables and anchors. Asks for a supply of paybook paper. The tallow Chandler has to transport his goods by land as the route by sea is too dangerous. The Purser of the Montague has died and John Wrenn, Purser of the Pearl, asks to be appointed in his place. Asks for a supply of colours and of brimstone, as there is little to be had locally.
