Description: |
Folio 388: Commissioner Sir Edward Gregory, Chatham. Has instructed Mr Hale to retain the Clerk of the Survey's extra assistant at Sheerness on his books until Lady Day. Is discussing the matter of deepening the river in front of the dock where the Stirling Castle lies with Mr Arden. Hopes to persuade him to do it at the same rate as his last contract despite the fact that deeper water is involved, but asks for their Lordships guidance in the matter. Asks for at least some of the money due to the workmen to be sent as otherwise they will suffer a miserable Christmas. |
