Description:

Folio 235: Commissioner Sir Edward Gregory, Chatham. Francis Hale, the new Sailmaker, is living in the sail loft and working well. He hopes that Richard Philips, House Carpenter, has learnt his lesson as he is now employed at Woolwich. Mr Nurse, Purser of the St Michael, and Mr Duke, Purser of the Edgar, have been granted leave. The Supply is in the Thames as is the Transporter with a raft of masts for Kinsale. The Royal Oak has gone to Gillingham and Chatham. Since the death of Sarah Booth, under contract to supply glass, Alice Booth has been managing the business but wants to give it up. William Ousnam, worker there, wants to take it over.
