Folio 228: Richard Hale, Clerk of the Cheque, Sheerness to Sir Edward Gregory, Chatham. He has spoken to Mr. Griggs, who is not content to serve with his smack at the same terms as last year. He would have been willing to serve at a lower price if he was certain he would be paid and would be willing if he could be borne on the quarterly pay books. If it cannot be agreed, asks for the Purveyor to make inquiries for another suitable vessel. |
