Description:

Folio 76: Captain Thomas Allin, the Ruby, Portsmouth. William Barber informs me that John Newett, Purser of the Ruby, has petitioned for the wages of Thomas, which he has no right to, as he is my servant. When Richard Newett and Church had their tickets, he was clear of the Newitts. He has found Church's clothes ever since as on the 12th May last he fell out of the mizzen top and broke his leg and an arm, which has cost me, besides the King's charge. Hopes the Board does not think he would do it for another man's servant but his own. Newett's servant's name was John Millford and he had a ticket numbered 728. For Richard Bonnaby, his servant, he had a ticket numbered 736.
